SHAH ALAM, 12 May: The Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, should take up Rafizi Ramli’s challenge to resign if he is dissatisfied with the irregularities of 1MDB, Tabung Haju and KWAP.
The Keadilan Youth Movement Chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said that Khairy should generally inform the explanation given by the Prime Minister and the reason why he was not satisfied.
“Previously, Khairy often expressed concern and sought clarification on topical issues such as the GST, 1MDB and Tabung Haji, and the next day he expressed his full support for Prime Minister Najib Razak.
“This incident clearly shows that Khairy’s priority is focused on political survival rather than aspirations and the interests of the young people,” he said in a press statement.
Nik Nazmi said that the young people need a true leader to ensure that the top leadership is responsible for their actions because they belittle the work of public institutions.
“Unfortunately, we were let down again at the same time where he is the voice of moderation in Umno.
“It is hoped that his latest comment does not mean that the Umno Youth has stopped voicing critical opinions on topical issues,” he said.
