He said that the five men involved were carelessly throwing waste into the nearby drain when the operation was being carried out.

“During the incident, the group used a four-wheel drive to get rid of fish waste which is believed to be from a supermarket nearby.

“As a result, the vehicle was seized under the By-law 4 Waste Collection, Dumping and Disposal (MPK) 2007 for littering in a place that is not set,” he said in a statement.

Norfiza said that MPK is seriously and decisively addressing the problem of illegal dumping especially at several locations identified.

He said that MPK will also continue to aggressively monitor from time to time to combat this irresponsible activity.

“This act actually invites a variety of diseases and impairs the scenic area. So far, MPK has provided sufficient bins to accommodate food waste disposal at strategic areas,” he said.

He said that anyone who sees such incidents should immediately report it to MPK if these activities are taking place in the area by calling 03-33748845.
