RM12.1 million to improve educational facilities at 495 schools

SHAH ALAM, 4 June: A total of RM12.1 million was allocated to 495 schools across the state to provide a conducive learning environment for students.

The Exco for Education, Human Capital Development, Science & Technology and Innovation, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said for the district of Sepang, RM1,087,000 was provided for 29 schools including Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR), Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC).

“The total distribution for each district and school is different based on the needs of the school by taking into account the number of students and school’s current situation.

“It is based on the application form completed by each school,” he said in a statement to Selangor Kini.

This year, the state government has allocated a total allocation for the Selangor Education Assistance of RM16 million and RM12 million has been distributed.

Of the amount, SAR received RM6 million, while SJKC and SJKT receive RM4 million each. The remaining RM2 million is reserved for emergency uses such as fire or natural disaster.

Sepang is the eight area to receive assistance distribution under this programme.
