President’s Mandate Tour manages to foster cooperation

BENTONG, 16 Aug: The President’s Mandate Tour across that country organised by PKR, starting July 22, ended in Bentong, Pahang with overwhelming response from party members.

The programme which explained the country’s political scenario was attended by about 200 people. They were there to hear messages by Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and PKR leaders at the Chinese Assembly Hall here.

The Head Secretariat, K. Gunasekaran, said that in general, they were satisfied with the response by party members at the grassroots level.

He said that this indirectly enhanced relations between the central and state leadership.

“Party members were also briefed on the country’s current issues and what needs to be done for the future of the party.

“It is done at the right time for all members to hear the President’s message,” he told Selangor Kini.

He said that the next programme will be discussed soon to continue to mobilise the party machinery.

In addition to the tour programme, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri programme was also held with the locals.

Among the leaders present were PKR Vice-Presidents Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, Tian Chua, Dr Xavier Jayakumar, Kuantan Member of Parliament Fuziah Salleh and Selangor Exco Member, Elizabeth Wong.
