1,000 join the Selangor Health Carnival

KUALA LANGAT, 16 Aug: Nearly 1,000 participants joined the Selangor Health Carnival for the Kuala Langat District level around Morib this morning.

The Exco for Health, Welfare, Women and Family Affairs, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that the commitment shows that the people of Selangor are ready to realise the desire to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

She said that activities such as walking and cycling carried out today should also be done regularly to maintain health.

“Congratulations to the Kuala Langat District Council (MDKL) for the commitment shown when all participants completed the 7 kilometer walk for 10,000 steps.

“Some local authorities only have conditions alone; walk a little. Congratulations to those who truely walked 10,000 steps,” she said.

She said this during the opening ceremony of the Kuala Langat District Selangor Health Carnival at Dataran Morib, which was also attended by the MDKL Yang Dipertua, Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali, this morning.

The Selangor Health Carnival was first known as the Selangor Health Programme before being rebranded in 2015 as a carnival.

First introduced in 2014, the Selangor Health Carnival is now an annual programme for all 12 local authorities across Selangor.
