Do not be ashamed to go through breast examination

SUBANG JAYA, 15 Aug: Women are urged to be more open and not be ashamed to undergo breast examination, said the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) Speaker, Hannah Yeoh.

Hannah said that the examination is important in order to detect any early infections or diseases, especially breast cancer.

She said that women need to realise that this cancer attacks regardless or age, status or background.

“I found that most women are still paying little attention to examination, whether they are embarrassed or afraid.

“But they have to remember that there is no exemption to cancer, even nursing northers are not immune. They must act for themselves and their families,” she said.

She said this during the Breast Cancer Awareness programme organised by Real Kids in collaboration with the Malaysian Breast Cancer Welfare Association in USJ12 today.

At the same time, Hannah, who is also the Subang Jaya Assemblyman, praised Real Kids in stepping forward in fighting for women’s rights and interests.

“As a kindergarten, such commendable efforts should serve as an example to others to disclose civic knowledge to children. As the saying goes, curve the bamboo from the shoot,” she said.
