Don’t twist the story Ahmad Maslan

SHAH ALAM, 26 Aug: Claims that foreign investment in the country will be affected by the peaceful rally is deemed to be unfounded and without solid facts.

The PKR Vice-President, Tian Chua, said that foreign investors are cautious in view of the economic situation that is increasingly threatened and the value of the ringgit that has been increasingly weak.

“Investors are running away due to lack in confidence in the economy, the value of the ringgit and the government’s leadership crisis. Not because the people are rising up to question the government’s failure in managing the economy and good governance,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini.

Tian Chua, who is also the Batu MP, was responding to allegations by the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Ahmad Maslan, that the Bersih 4.0 is crippling the economy and foreign investors.

Ahmad also claimed that Bersih 4.0 will spoil the people’s joy during the independence month and cause concern for foreign tourists in Malaysia.

“Do not twist the story, instead celebrate the people’s right to speak and gather because it is part of the constitution.

“The people are rising to criticise the government that has damaged the country. This is the fact the Minister should accept,” he said.
