KUALA LUMPUR, 31 Aug: Bersih 4.0 was marred by a loud explosion near the junction of Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Raja Laut at the last hour of the rally.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by a firecracker when Bersih 2.0 activist Hishamuddin Rais was speaking at around 11.30 pm yesterday.
The explosion also caused a bit of commotion but the situation eased several minutes later after being pacified by the organisers.
A few minutes later, an ambulance that happened to be there began to move away from the area.
However, it is uncertain if the ambulance was carrying any patients or victims of the firrecracker explosion.
Meanwhile, The Star Online reported that several protesters suffered minor injuries due to being hit by the firecracker thrown at them.
Two suspects who threw the firecrackers were also reported to be injured when they were caught by people who were near the site.
