CM: Army Housing Scheme studied to be implemented

KUALA SELANGOR, 8 Sept: A special housing scheme for military retirees will be reviewed to be implemented in Selangor.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the initiative is in line with the demands of these people who do not have strong savings while serving in the government.

“Yesterday, I met with the representatives of Yayasan Perwira consisting of top military officers who want to involve PKNS in building homes for pensioners who have sacrificed a lot.

“This proves that the people have high expectations on the state government and PKNS which have proven to provide quality homes for the people,” he said.

He said this at the Kota Puteri PKNS Selangorku Dream Homes Launch and Registration Ceremony today.

Also present was the Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, the State Financial Officer, Datuk Noordin Sulaiman, and the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) General Manager, Azlan Alifiah.

At the same time, Mohamed Azmin also assured that the state government will continue to control the prices of houses in order to not burden the people despite the ever-increasing cost of construction materials.

“It is a big challenge for the state government and hopefully everyone will understand that this construction involves market forces.

“However, we suggest to reduce construction costs by exploring new technologies that can reduce the construction period,” he said.
