SHAH ALAM, 9 Sept: Despite dropping in the past two races, the racer from the OA Racing Team, Azrul Affendi Hadi managed to strengthen his position after winning in the 6th round of the Petronas AAM Cub Prix 2015 Championship that took place in Kangar, Perlis, from 15-16 August.
He was in the Pro-Am category and managed to collect 88 points, just four points behind the overall leader, Yusof Omar.
The manager of OA Racing Team, Hadi Anak Jembik, said that the victory gave a boost to Azrul to continue his winning rhythm in the remaining four rounds.
“This is the second consecutive victory after winning in the first round.
“If he remains consistent, I believe we can become the overall winner this year. I believe that Azrul can do it,” Hadi told Selangor Kini today.
Earlier, in the 6th round of the Malaysia Cub Prix, Azrul managed the pole position in the heats and the final race after clocking the fastest lap time.
In the final race, Azrul clocked 7 minutes and 53.9 seconds, leaving the second place racer, Md Faiz Azmi, far behind at 5.821 second behind.
Azrul who was riding the number 19 vehicle won in the first round in Temerloh, Pahang, and the 5th round that took place at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Malacca.
OA Racing team is a team of indigenous people from Selangor and is based in Kampung Bukit Tadom, Banting.
