Sukses: Sepang remains at the top, but continuously challenged

SHAH ALAM, 10 Sept: Petaling won gold and silver medals in the tenpin bowling women’s doubles at Sukan Selangor (Sukses) 2015 yesterday in an effort to get out of the bottom on the medals table.

This latest win saw the winners of 2013, Petaling, collect four gold medals, nine silver and 12 bronze, while only lacking one gold to match Hulu Selangor (5 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) in the eight place.

In the match yesterday, the Petaling doubles pair, Aida Munirah and Iffah Farhanah, set aside Iffah Nadhirah and Qistina, to win two medals while Nur Ain Izzany and Nur Shariah (Kuala Langat) won bronze.

Kuala Langat won in the men’s doubles throug M Nu’Aim and M Hafiz Fikri to overcome Adam Azza and Aziz Naim (Hulu Selangor) as well as Hafiz and Muhammad Hazim (Gombak) for silver and bronze.

Sepang remained at the top position with 13 gold, seven silver and six bronze, but is being challenged by Kuala Selangor in second place, followed by Klang and Gombak.

Kuala Selangor excelled in sepak takraw yesterday with Kuala Selangor A defeating Sepang A (2-0_ and Gombak B (2-1) while Kuala Selangor B beat Hulu Langat B (2-1) and Klang A (2-0).

For football, Klang defeated Kuala Selangor 4 -1, Kuala Langat beat Hulu Selangor 2 -0 and Petaling beat Gombak 4 – 1.

Sukses 2015 will last until September 20 and there are still 381 of the 602 medals up for grabs.
