CM: Selangorku Wifi drives overseas investment

SHAH ALAM, 22 Sept: The launch of the Selangorku Wifi is able to attract local and foreign investment to Selangor.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that this is because Wifi is an important basic facility that attracts investors.

“The implementation of this facility expresses the state government’s commitment during the presentation of the Budget last year.

“We managed to provide this service to all groups. It is a guarantee of relations between the rural community and towns to be connected without any areas being separated,” he told reporters.

Mohamed Azmin said that the facility could also boost urban growth, including human capital, high-tech workforce for communication from students to the people.

In the meantime, Mohamed Azmin said that the state government is committed to develop Selangor based on the Smart City and Smart State concept.

He said that the effort is to raise the social standards of the community in the near future.

“Therefore, the Mayor, or the Council President, should look at foreign countries on weather the Smart City facility can be implemented for Citizen Engagement so that the input can be gathered from the people.

“Take the example of big cities in formulating policies,” he said.
