Monitoring enhanced to ensure smooth garbage collection

SHAH ALAM, 22 Sept: The monitoring of each Klang Municipal Council (MPK) zine has been enhanced to ensure that garbage collection services in the area is at a commendable level.

The MPK Environmental Services Department Deputy Director, Azmi Muji, said that MPK is always improving to enhance the quality of services and has become better at the moment.

“We appoint observers for this purpose in addition to often visiting with contractors to troubled areas so that it can be addressed immediately.

“Among the measures imposed on problematic contractors is the issuance of the Corrective Action Notice (NTC), fines and so on,” he told Selangor Kini.

So far, he said that MPK has appointed four master contractors and 64 collection contractors to collect garbage in all their areas.

“MPK is in the process of continuous improvements and is carrying out enforcement against the people to prevent and stop illegal dumping and littering,” he said.

Elaborating, he said that MPK is also mobilising law enforcement operations starting May to September and has seized 30 vehicles, including trucks and cars.

“A total of 145 compounds have been imposed on offenders who throw garbage in unauthorised places,” he said.
