PAS future bright in gaining support of young successors

KUALA SELANGOR, 5 June: PAS if confident that the future of the party is bright following the strong support from young successors.

The PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, hopes that the best conclusion for the Islamic party is in shaping the political changes in the country.

“We will have a good future based on the majority of the delegation that attended the conference this time.

“I always expect the best, the rest is up to Allah,” he said during a press conference at the 61st PAS Annual Conference today.

Also present was the PAS Secretary-General, Datuk Mustafa Ali, and the former Deputy President, Mohamad Sabu.

Abdul Hadi dismissed allegations that there will be a new party following the majority victory of the clergy in the election this time.

“When looking at the list of those who won, they are not just from the clergy, but consists of professionals too.

“For example, Dr Abdul Hasan, a former lecturer at a university in Sabah, and Rahman Zakaria, the former Malaysian Immigration Deputy Director,” he said.
