Immigrants trespass cemetery, JAIS should act

SHAH ALAM, 8 June: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) should accelerate the process of applying for the gazetting of land at Kampung Matang Pagar to be a cemetery.

The Paya Jaras Assemblyman, Mohd Khairuddin Othman, said that the delay in gazetting the cemetery has resulted in immigrants trespassing the land to be turned into a turf nursery.

“Now the cemetery has been planned as a Muslim cemetery but the land has not been gazette until now resulting in the land being trespassed by foreign immigrants.

“We want to accelerate the gazetting and fence it up so that the land is not trespassed. I have mentioned it at the Selangor State Assembly (DNS). Now, we are waiting for JAIS to apply at the Land and Mines Office,” said Mohd Khairuddin when contacted by Selangor Kini.

Meanwhile, the Kampung Matang Pagar Chief, Mustafa Kamal Ibrahim, said that apart from becoming a turf nursery, the land was also trespassed to be made into a settlement.

“Not only a turf nursery, but until now there are already several houses built by foreign immigrants on the land.

“The longer we wait, the situation will become more complicated if left alone. That is why I ask for immediate action to ensure that the land is no longer trespassed,” added Mustafa.
