Selangor revenue increases by RM164 from 2014 in 5 months

SHAH ALAM, 8 June: Selangor recorded an increase in revenue by RM164 million, bringing the total to RM1.158 billion in five months in 2015 compared to RM993 million in 2014.

The State Financial Officer, Datuk Noordin Sulaiman, said that the figure shows that Selangor managed to surpass the revenue estimate to 58.7 percent.

“This achievement is in just five months. We are now approaching half of the expected revenue.

“But in just five months, we managed to obtain more than half in collection,” he told Selangor Kini.

Noordin said that the percentage of tax also showed an increase during the same period last year.

“The increase of RM164 million is encouraging and we expect the revenue to increase to over RM2 billion as of December,” he said.

According to the records of the Revenue Management Division, as of May 27, the tax revenue collected was RM390.4 million.

While Non-Tax Revenue is RM684.6 million and Non-Revenue Receipt is RM83 million.
