SHAH ALAM, 26 Sept: Five areas in Selangor recorded moderate Air Pollution Index (API) readings as of 12 noon.
32 other areas that also recorded similar API readings are Johor, Terengganu, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak.
While 10 other areas recorded healthy API readings including Alor Setar, 24), Perai (36), Langkawi (27) and Kangsar (22).
According to the Department of Environment (DOE), Banting recorded an API of 61, Kuala Selangor (54), Lort Klang (66), Petaling Jaya (61) and Shah Alam (63).
The reading showed an increase compared to 9am this morning.
Meanwhile, Balok Baru, Kuantan, recorded the highest API reading at 131.
This was followed by Malacca City (120) and Indera Mahkota, Kuantan (116).
API readings between 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
