CM: Track record is Iskandar’s winning factor

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 June: The state government adopted a policy of non-inteference in a party, including the issue of the election in the 61st Annual PAS Conference that ended on June 6.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that he believes that the performance of the Selangor Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, is one of the factors influencing his victory as the PAS Vice President.

“That is the decision of PAS representatives. We do not interfere in the election, however Datuk Iskandar, as an Assemblyman and Exco, has indeed provided the best services at the state level based in the policies decided.

“We do not interfere with his position in the party, however I believe his victory is based on his contributions to Pakatan as a whole. This may be the consideration at the conference,” he told Selangor Kini at the Parliament lobby today.

At the conference, Iskandar won one out of the three Vice President seats that were contested and the remaining two seats were won by Idris Ahmad and Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah.
