Shopping centress increase PKNS asset value

SHAH ALAM, 10 June: The construction of shopping centres by the Selangor State Development Corpporation (PKNS) is focusing on affordable rental rates for traders.

The PKNS General Manager, Azlan Alifiah, said that the commercial development initiative is due to the high financial constraints to traders for common shop rental.

“Complexes such as these would increase retail business activities dynamically, while increasing PKNS’ asset value.

“For that purpose, PKNS plans to build the Evo Mall in Bangi, Selayang Mall in Selayang and another business complex in Datum Jelatek,” he told Selangor Kini.

He said that PKNS is also providing the Retail 200 programme to train and prepare traders before entering the complex.

“The programme is one of the efforts to ensure that Bumiputeras are not left behind in retail trade. We provide overall exposure on retail methods to the 200 participants that have been trained since 2013,” he said.
