CM: Mitigation 2 project to overcome water disruptions

GOMBAK, 28 Sept: The Mitigation 2 project that will be completed in October will completely solve water disruptions in Selangor and the Klang Valley.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the state government also gave assurance that water rationing will recur to make it difficult for consumers.

This is because the project helps deliver clean water to the south of Selangor so as to meet the high demand of the area.

“The water issue is solved and proactive measures have been taken to ensure that there are no more water disruptions.

“I am confident that when the Mitigation 2 project is completed, the water problem will be solved,” he told reporters after launching the Gombak Quartz Ridge Coffee Table book at the Klang Gates Dam Recreation Site today.

At the same time, Mohamed Azmin said that the acquisition of the Selangor Water Supply Company (SYABAS) and Puncak Niaga on October 15 will solve the water supply problem.

“When complete, Air Selangor will review the water distribution system so that it meets not only domestic or industry needs, but overall needs.

“So, this is among the active steps that we are taking and I believe that this problem can be addressed well,” he said.

The Mitigation 2 project involves the Sungai Selangor Phase Three (SSP3) Water Treatment Plant.
