Haze: Three areas in Selangor record unhealthy API readings

SHAH ALAM, 30 Sept: Three areas in Selangor recorded yellow Air Pollution Index (API) readings, which is the unhealthy category.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE), as of 12 pm today, Banting recorded a reading of 130, Port Klang (106) and Shah Alam (110).

Two other areas, Kuala Selangor and Petaling Jaya, recorded moderate readings respectively with 78 and 100.

Meanwhile, the highest API readings were in Bukit Rambai Malacca with 148, followed by Malacca City (137).

Also affected are two areas in Negeri Sembilan, Port Dickson (144) and Seremban (117) apart from Pahang in Balok Baru (133) and Indera Mahkota (103).

At the same time, four areas in Johor continued to record unhealthy API readings in Kota Tinggi (101), Larkin Lama (114), Muar (118) and Pasir Gudang (125).

This caused all schools in the Darul Takzim state to be closed today.
