Azmin: No coup, malicious allegations

SHAH ALAM, 5 Oct: The PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that allegations that there will be a coup against the party President, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, is malicious.

He said that the malicious and defamatory allegations were issued by individuals who are bankrupt of ideas.

“I have no comments on that. The allegation is malicious and defamatory, and was issued by individuals who are ‘bankrupt’ (of ideas),” he told reporters after opening the Selangor Digital Creative Centre (SDCC) at I-City.

The Chief Minister however said that it is the party’s internal matter and should not be discussed openly through the media.

“What’s the problem? It is the party’s internal matter. We do not discuss internal party problems openly,” he said.

Mohamed Azmin denied that there is a split in PKR following the establishment of Pakatan Harapan.

He said this when commenting on the issue that was made through a petition forcing the Central Leadership Council (MPP) to hold a special meeting to discuss the formation of Pakatan Harapan.

“We are talking to all parties, political parties and any organisation that wants to overthrow Umno,” he said.

It is understood that the PKR MPP will convene next Sunday after the petition was handed over to the PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, to demand for a discussion about the “shocking’ establishment of the new coalition.
