SHAH ALAM, 14 Oct: The call by the Umno Deputy President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, should have the support of party subordinates.
The Selangor PAS Secretary, Khairuddin Othman, said that it is time that Umno members rise up and unite with the opposition to set things right.
He said that if Malaysia is destroyed, Umno will also feel the pinch.
“We see support from the grassroots for the Umno leadership declining, the words of the Prime Minister are no longer heard and is even being ridiculed.
“Selangor PAS agrees that Malaysia needs a change in leadership,” said the Paya Jaras Assemblyman to Selangor Kini.
Previously, Muhyiddin participated in a press conference with the former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Umno Vice President and the Gua Musang MP, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
He urged all Umno members to speak loudly to reject the misconduct of the leadership in the party.
The Morib Assemblyman, Hasnul Baharuddin, however said that Umno members will continue to be blindly loyal to the leadership despite it being flawed and crippled.
“Umno members often behave according to the flow, they do not have high morale and they are easily intimidated,” he said.
At the same time, the Kuala Kubu Bhari Assemblyman, Lee Kee Hiong, said that the primary focus should be on overthrowing Datuk Seri Najib Razak as the Prime Minister.
“What is most important is for us to save Malaysia, not Umno,” she said.
