SHAH ALAM, 15 Oct: 300 participants from nine districts across Selangor participated in the Short-Term Skills Course for rural communities who are interested in venturing into the business world, in addition to the opportunity to increase their knowledge in skills.
The course is being conducted by the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) under the Standing Committee on Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs and Heritage, Rural and Traditional Village Development, in collaboration with the INPENS College.
Among the courses offered is the motorcycle repair programme, hairdressing, refrigeration and air-conditioning, as well as sewing and makeup.
It also involves the secretariat from UPEN and the Committee Office under the portfolio of state Exco member Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi.
It is also hoped that the programme will improve the social status of the people towards the state’s prosperity and to become a medium of exchanging view and ideas to launch entrepreneurial activities.
As a continuation of the programme, another village community industry programme, the Medium-Term Skills Course, of five to seven days by the INPENS College and ITKAU, as a start-up capital in the form of equipment that is mobile and consumables to begin operations.
In addition, participants must establish and register their companies to facilitate business operations and only those who pass the interview will be called to follow the course.
