Selangor government will survive

SHAH ALAM, 26 June: The Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government is believed to be able to survive based on the feedback received by Assemblymen so far.

The Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shuhaimi Shafie, said that this confidence is expressed through a month-long discussion and weekly meetings with elected representatives.

“Feedback from 60 or 70 percent of Assemblymen met by the Chief Minister, me or other leaders in PKR, we are confident that Pakatan, that was founded in 2008, will survive,” he said, taken from Malaysiakini.

On June 22, Mohamed Azmin Ali went before Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and was ordered to defend the stability of the government for the sake of the state development and the people.

Elaborating, Shuhaimi said that Mohamed Azmin also does not have any problems working with all Excos and Assemblymen in Selangor.

“Selangor also appointed a Personnel Committee that holds regular meetings two days after the PAS conference ended about two weeks ago.

“The committee is a state body that discusses about political appointment such as Excos and village heads,” he said.

Commenting on the proposal by the PAS Ulama Council, Shuhaimi said that it is not yet finalised because it requires the approval of the Ulama Syura Council.

“Pakatan can still be saved. Give us time,” he said.
