Convoy prevents youths from social ills

SUBANG JAYA, 1 Sept: The participation of youth in the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Convoy Programme is capable of preventing this group from being caught up in social ills.

The Exco for Youth Generation, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development, Amirudin Shari, said that the annual programme that has been carried out since 2007 is not a programme that is a waste of time.

He said that this is because the five modules involving entrepreneurship, being crime-free, civil and healthy, as well as loving the environment, is being implemented in the programme.

“The state government always supports efforts for this group and we are among the first to establish a youth policy.

“I believe that this programme is not just a motorcycle programme, but many things that are beneficial can be learned informally,” he said after the closing of the programme, which was also attended by the MPSJ Yang Dipertua, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan today.

A total of 70 youths who enjoy extreme activities were involving the the programme from Subang Jaya to Cameron Highlands and to Tapah and back to Subang Jaya on 28 to 31 August.

This youth programme under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) received cooperation from 1M4U, the police, the Road Transport Department, the Road Safety Department, the Cameron Highlands District Council and the Tapah District Council.
