KUALA LUMPUR, 21 OCT: Time seemed to stop when the announcement of the motion by Hee Loy Sian (South Petaling Jaya-PKR) was presented in the Dewan Rakyat this morning.
The media practitioners’ workspace in Dewan Rakyat became chaotic because it was believed that it was a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
However, the assumptions of the media practitioners who were covering the morning session disappeared when the motion proposed was about haze conditions in the country, which was also proposed by Loy Sian.
Feelings of anticipation and a silent atmosphere turned into exuberant laughter and sighs from the media practitioners present when they realised it was not what they though.
“I thought it was the motion of no confidence,” one reporter laughed.
In addition to Budget 2016, which will be tabled later on Friday, the Dewan Rakyat session this time caught unusual attention when Loy Sian filed a notice for the motion of no confidence against Najib.
The 27th motion, however, is expected to be withdrawn after the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah, filed a similar motion.
