MBSA tables Budget 2016: RM443.4 million expenditure, RM434.4 million revenue

SHAH ALAM, 21 OCT: RM443.4 million will be spent by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) for Budget 2016 with an estimated revenue of RM434.4 million.

MBSA Mayor, Datuk Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad, said the budget deficit of RM9 million will use MBSA reserves.

He said the estimated expenditure comprises of management expenses of RM368.3 million and development costs of RM75 million.

“The expenditure allocation decreased by RM17.1 million or 3.7 percent compared to this year.

“The largest allocation is for services and supplies, amounting to RM267.9 million,” he said during a special meeting of the Council for the First Time in 2016.

Ahmad Zaharin said the budgeted allocation for maintenance and minor repairs, includes carrying out waste collection work amounting to RM38.3 million and maintenance of halls, markets, and stalls amounting to RM6.2 million.

In addition, road maintenance expenses amount to RM6.1 million while RM7.5 million will be spent on drains. Leisure areas and recreational parks are allocated an amount of RM2.4 million.

“Allocations for development amount to RM75.1 million.

“63.7 per cent is for building construction and improvement projects while the remaining 28.3 per cent is for infrastructure upgrades.

He said it is hoped by MBSA to implement development policies, especially to enhance service delivery systems to the public.
