The closed discussion between Khalid and Saifuddin was also attended by the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the ‘middleman’.

Khalid was represented by Edmund Bon while William Leong, who is also the Selayang MP from PKR, represented Saifuddin.

Also present was the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail.

Khalid filed a suit against Saifuddin on August 18, 2014, regarding the distribution of the document on the ‘Decision to Replace the Chief Minister of Selangor’ report stated August 4, 2014, allegedly defaming him.

The document was released as part of PKR’s efforts to topple Abdul Khalid as the Chief Minister of Selangor at the time by linking him with a Bank Islam debt settlement.

On January 9, Saifuddin, who is now the PKR Director of Election, filed an appeal to obtain from Abdul Khalid several documents about the out of court debt settlement between Abdul Khalid and Bank Islam on grounds that the document is important to support the lawsuit against him.

On February 18 however, the appeal was rejected after finding that the appeal filed by Saifuddin did not have any merits to it.

Khalid was asked to resign as the Chief Minister on September 21, 2014, after going through a long political crisis that began during the Kajang By-Elections or the Kajang Move.
