SHAH ALAM, June 12: The Chairman of Sabah Coalition for Change (PPS( Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin supports the move by Members of Parliament from Sabah and Sarawak whom allegedly met with Umno veteran, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to express unhappiness because they did not receive any ‘reward’ after aiding BN’s victory.

While describing it as a must, preference should be given seeing that Sabah and Sarawak parliamentary seats were the major contributions to BN’s victory in the recent 13th General Election (GE-13).

He said that giving positions in the cabinet does not refer to the number of ministers or deputy ministers appointed, but instead, it prioritises ministries suitable for the development of Sabah and Sarawak.

“Sabah and Sarawak gave them (BN) victory to rule. It is mandatory that they (the government) gives priority to Sabah and Sarawak (members of Parliament). And not only refer to the total number.

“The (Minister of ) Agriculture and the Public Works Department (Minister of Public Works) should be given to Sabah and Sarawak because the roads in our states are worse off than the Peninsula states,” he told TV Selangor.

Citing for the Malaysian Insider news portal, several Sabah and Sarawak Members of Parliament met Tengku Razaleigh to express dissatisfaction regarding the division of positions on Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s cabinet.

All members of parliament attended the briefing on parliamentary procedures and ethics for when they convene on June 24.

In the GE-13, BN won 133 Parliamentary seats and 47 out of those seats were from Parliaments in Sabah and Sarawak.
