PETALING JAYA, June 17: Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament, Nurul Izzah Anwar slammed the statement by the Prime Minister claiming that those who believe that there were secret operations to bring foreigners to vote in the 13th General Election are people “who cannot think”.

“I hope that Malaysians can assess the way leaders talk (because) the insult was not just directed to lawyers, but to all.

“Let us not forget that Malaysia is not a dictatorship country but a democratic country. Even if the people vote for Pakatan Rakyat, does it mean that they are insane?” said Nurul Izzah when met today.

Recently, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said that the public and lawyers who suspect that there were operations to bring in Bangladeshis to vote in the General Election are those who cannot think.

He reportedly said this at a luncheon with Malaysian students in Indonesia during his visit to the country yesterday.

Pakatan Rakyat and several NGOs claimed that there is evidence that foreign nationals were given identification cards to vote in the recent GE-13.

Nurul Izzah said that as a leader, Najib should not be making such shallow and arrogant statement but rather investigate allegations of fraud alleged by NGOs and Pakatan.
