State Government Researches to Develop Halal Hub in Pulau Indah

SEMENYIH, July 7: The State Government will research to develop a Halal hub in Pulau Indah, Port Klang.

According to the Entrepreneurial Development Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi, the suggestion was made based on the strategic location of Pulau Indah, which is near to Port Klang, which will be advantageous to market the goods internationally.

“We hope that in five years we can realise this Halal hub because I think it is very important and it is time for Selangor to execute it.

“This Halal hub is in high demand both locally and internationally, even in non-Muslim countries, they also place importance in halal products,” she said after she handed over the business permits and licences to 70 traders of the Ramadan Bazaar here in front of the Taman Pelangi Tesco.

In the same event, Dr Daroyah managed to present assistance in the form of daily necessities to 15 single mothers from the area.

Previously, the Exco for Islamic Affairs, Agricultural Modernisation and Rural Development, Sallehen Mukhyi during a Selangor State Assembly session said that it was time that Selangor becomes the champion of the halal industry in the country.

According Sallehen, currently 40 percent of halal certification applications in Malaysia have been issued by Selangor.
