SHAH ALAM, 14 SEPT: The wife of a protest demonstrator against the 2009 Perak Coup, Nashita Md Noor, 47, decided to sell the house she is occupying for her family to survive.
She decided to make the move in the event her husband, Bad Latif Mansor, 47, fails in the appeal process which is to be filed at the Taiping High Court this Tuesday.
According to Nashita, she managed to whisper this to her husband as soon as the Kuala Kangsar Sessions Court Judge sentenced him and the 12 other accused to two years imprisonment and a fine of RM5,000.
“All four of our children are still in school, including one who is studying in Jordan.
“The charge borne is indeed quite heavy. Let it be known that I am a full-time homemaker with no income. That is why are forced to sell the house we are currently occupying, but fortunately our child studying in Jordan is being sponsored by the Selangor Zakat Board.
“I managed to whisper this to my husband before he was taken to the Tapah Prison yesterday. He agreed,” said Nashita when contacted by TVSelangor today.
Nashita added that she was allowed to meet Bad Latif at the Tapah Prison this morning.
During the meeting, Nashita said that Bad Latif informed that the health condition of a demonstrator who is being imprisoned, Isha Redzuan, 59, is not very good due to the thyroid cancer he suffers from.
“He is healthy, so are the rest except for Isha who needs to take medicine every day. In fact he is spirited and hopes that the spirit of the people outside will not fade. Keep up the fight.
“He considers his and the other 12’s imprisonment as a sacrifice so that the torch of others will not go out. Let it be known that after the election, it has been fading a little,” added Nashita.
