Anwar: The People Should Not Continue to be Bullied, Reject BN

SHAH ALAM, 7 Feb: The Leader of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, urged voters to make the Kajang by-election a platform to stop bullying from the government.

The Kajang By-Election candidate said that the approach should take into account the people who are struggling with the rising prices and the cost of living.

He said that the people should unite to reject the Barisan Nasional (BN) government because they continuously bully the people.

“People, do not be bullied. If we unite, the government cannot bully us. At the moment, the people are faced with high costs of prices after the increase in prices of fuel, electricity tariffs, water and sugar, thus creating a domino effect,” he said at a talk held at the Taman Koperasi Cuepacs yesterday.

Earlier, Anwar managed to meet with resident around Sungai Kantan in an afternoon tea session and fulfilled his prayers at the Jenaris Surau.

At the same time, Anwar informed that the state government has funds to help the people and it should be used as best possible to lighten their burdens.

Anwar said that the Selangor State reserves are not used unless it is for the interests of the people, unlike BN leaders who distribute wealth unfairly.

“But what is important is that there is money if I want to help the people of Selangor. For example, I am able to give some suggestions regarding implementation because we have the funds and money,” he said.

He added that although he is also a Member of Parliament, it will not stop him from serving the people.

“I have to take care of Permatang Pauh and Parliament; I am able to do it. If I think that I cannot, I will not take it (the position),” he said.
