‘Busy Criticising Selangor, Negeri Sembilan Also Has Water Problems’

SHAH ALAM, 25 February: The Central Government and BN leaders should stop propaganda on the water supply disruption problem in Selangor because Negeri Sembilan is also experiencing it.

The Negeri Sembilan Youth (AMK) Chief, Nazree Yusof, said that among the affected areas are Sendayan, Rasah, Mambau and Seremban, and has affected 8,000 households since last Wednesday.

“The BN Government is busy saying that Pakatan Rakyat states will experience water disruptions and so on, but this is also happening in Negeri Sembilan.

“So BN should be responsible for the water crisis happening in Negeri Sembilan,” he said, quoted from Keadilan Daily.

The Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, previously reported that the authorities took 13 million litres of raw water from Sungai Batang Benar and 45 million litres more from Sungai Ulu Muar to accommodate consumers in Seremban.

He added that the people are now able to assess the actions of the previous government that often points their finger at states under Pakatan Rakyat, like Selangor, that may face critical water disruptions.

“BN needs to provide and explanation and steps that should be taken to restore the situation in Negeri Sembilan.

“We are ready to sit to discuss and give opinions, but we first want to hear an explanation from the government,” he said.

It is understood that states under BN’s administration, like Johor, have suffered a sharp decline in water levels in the Semberong Kiri Dam, Bekok Dam and Machap Dam, which provides water to residents in Kluang, Batu Pahat and Pontian.

Meanwhile, the media reported that the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, received an application from the dam managements in Johor, Sarawak and Negeri Sembilan, to perform cloud seeding to produce rain following the current hot and dry weather.
