Rafizi: PM’s Office Afraid of Receiving Memorandum on the Taib Issue Like Fearing a Bomb!

PETALING JAYA, 26 Feb: Flip-flopping and fear, like being handed a bomb, is the reaction shown by officers in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) yesterday.

It is due to Rafizi Ramli and the Sarawak PKR’s arrival to hand over a memorandum urging the Prime Minister to postpone the nomination of Pehin Seri Taib Mahmud as the Tuan Yang Dipertua Negara of Sarawak.

The PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli, said that he has already informed the two officers in the PMO on the purpose of the visit by him and the Sarawak PKR Deputy Chairman, Chhe How.

Unfortunately, Rafizi said, the reaction show by the officers at the time was to give various reasons to not receive the memorandum, and in fact, ‘interrogated’ Rafizi.

“The same officers gave excuses as though they did not know about our visit, causing us to wait for over an hour,” said Rafizi in a press conference at the PKR Headquarters today.

Rafizi added that after waiting for over an hour, he and Chee How finally had to leave to avoid Chee How, who is also the Assemblyman of Batu Lintang, for missing his flight back to Sarawak.

“This shows that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is afraid to deal with issues involving Taib.

“This reinforces the perception that Najib does not have any influence over the Chief Minister of Sarawak, although the Prime Minister is in charge of Barisan Nasional,” added Rafizi.

Rafizi also informed that the memorandum, despite not being received by the PMO, will still be sent via post as soon as possible.
