MH370: Pro-Government Media Rejects PM’s Theory

SHAH ALAM, 14 Apr: The search mission for the Malaysian Airline System (MAS) MH370 aircraft, which has entered its 38th day, continues to raise questions when various speculations have come up in the operation that misleads the public.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, previously announced that the aircraft ended its flight in the southern Indian Ocean and was far off track, but claims by the mainstream media seem to deny that statement.

Political writers, Shahbudin Husin, said that several pro-government media seem to doubt that the ill-fated aircraft ‘crashed’, instead believe that MH370 may have been hijacked with the involvement of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Be said that some media are trying to speculate that the co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, managed to contact someone, who cannot be detected, when the aircraft was flying low in Penang.

“All theories and speculation is coming from the mainstream media and government-owned media that clearly refute the conclusion previously made by the Prime Minister.

“Although the acting Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein rejects the two theories and the former U.S. Ambassador, John Malott, assumes that the CIA conspiracy theory is fictional and also racist. However, the truth is that even after a month since the aircraft has been mission, the mainstream media themselves do not believe the government.

“If previously Hishammuddin warned the media to not make any speculation or face legal action, now the government’s auspice media is doing so, in fact their passion is towards it is surpassing new media,” he wrote in his blog.

Shahbudin said that the mainstream media’s behaviour does not only humiliate the government, but also challenged the authority of Najib, who previously was convinced that the aircraft may have crashed.

In his writing, he also questioned the Malaysian Government’s focus in looking for the aircraft’s black box shows that the search for the aircraft, which is larger in size, is no longer a priority.

He added that although all parties want the truth behind the incident, the importance of the victim’s relatives should not be forgotten.

“The victim’s relatives just want confirmation if there is death, there must be at least pieces of human remains found, or if it really crashed, the debris of the aircraft.

“Therefore, while the black box is being searched for, focus on the aircraft and the fate of its passengers should also be balanced,” said the former Umno Youth Deputy Head for the Wangsa Maju branch.
