SHAH ALAM, 17 Apr: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Secretary-General, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that Umno-BN is currently no longer able to think about matters of the country, but their self-interest alone.
He said that it is no surprise when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is seen as a major threat and Umno-BN clearly wants to put the PKR de facto leader in prison.
“Umno has no strength to fight Anwar. They create defamation, then jail him.It is hoped that this way, the people will reject PKR.
“That is Umno’s table. The formula since Tun Mahathir’s time,” he said, quoted from Keadilan Daily when speaking in front of 3,000 attendees at the Reformation 2.0 programme at Padang Besar yesterday.
He said that Umno-BN will only use one way, which is to put Anwar Ibrahim in jail and want the people of Malaysia to reject PKR and continue to support Umno-BN.
“Not only do they want Anwar to be put in jail, the Pakatan Rakyat leadership line-up to be put in prison. Rafizi experienced it, Anthony Lone experienced it, they want everyone to be put in prison,” he said while chanting glorification and Reformation.
“They do not think of anything else. Jail Anwar, jail Anwar. Add 20 years to a five year sentence. They do not want Anwar to talk to the people. They want to rule to the end,” he said.
AT the same time, Saifuddin said that new hope lies in the hands of the young people who are the group that determines the direction of socio, economic and politics in this country.
“The most significant change is support from the young people,” he said.
