PKR Forms Higher Education Appeal Panel to Help Poor Families

PETALING JAYA, 24 Apr: The young leaders of PKR took the initiative to form the Higher Education Appeal Panel (PRPT) to review the system of granting scholarships and reformation for the entry into institutes of higher learning.

This special panel will work to defend cases, especially those involving those from poor families, to receive the appropriate higher education opportunities.

The Member of Parliament for Bayan Baru, Sim Tze Tzin, said that the PRPT will consist of young leaders and volunteers from across the country, by focusing on several key matters.

“PRPT hopes to bring up alternative proposals on the reform needed to the granting of scholarships and the entry into institutes of higher learning.

“In addition to that, PRPT will hold career workshops after school life for school graduates to educate them on higher education opportunities after school,” he said in a press conference.

PRPT will consist of nine leaders, among them the Deputy Speaker for the Selangor State Assembly (DNS), Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad; the Member of Parliament for Pandan, Rafizi Ramli; the Assemblyman for Teja, Chang Lih Kang; the Assemblyman for Simpang Pulai, Tan Kar Hing and Sim Tze Tzin himself.

He added that the PRPT will announce, from time to time, the methods for the public to make complaints to them to be taken up to the right parties.
