MH17 pilots remains safely buried in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, 2 Sept: The remains of the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH17 flight pilot, Captain Wan Amran Wan Hussein, was safely buried at the Cemetery in Section 21 at about 11.30 this morning.

The funeral with full honours was attended by about 300 people, including his relatives and next of kin, as well as colleagues.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim; the State Government Secretary, Datuk Khusrin Munawi; as Selangor Exco members, Dr Yunus Hairi and Dr Halimah Ali were also present to pay their last respects.

Prior to this, the remains which was transported by a special hearse from the Bunga Raya Complex, KLIA, was prayed for at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque here.

The late Captain left behind a widow, Mariam Yusof, and two children aged nine and 11.

3.2

The Boeing 777-200 aircraft of the MH17 flight carrying 298 passengers and crew was shot down in eastern Ukraine on July 17 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
