PUTRAJAYA, 12 Sept: The Selangor Government’s intention to manage the water industry was achieved following the signing of the Master Agreement between the Selangor Government and the Federal Government today.
In a press statement, the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the agreement is in accordance with the wishes of the Water Services Industry Act (WSIA) 20006.
He said that the agreement thus opens a new chapter for the water services industry in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
This is because the company, which is wholly-owned by the people of Selangor, Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, will take the water supply services to a more professional and efficient level.
