Sultan of Selangor’s Cup: Selangor wins 2-1 against Singapore

SHAH ALAM, 27 Sept: The Selangor team emerged as the champion of the Sultan of Selangor’s Cup 2014 after defeating Singapore with a score of 2-1 here at the Shah Alam Stadium tonight.

Approximately 70,000 spectators attended that match, which was also attended by HRH the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali.

The Selangor team was leading 1-0 at half-time. The second goal for Selangor was scored by Paulo Rangel at the 45th minute through a penalty kick and goal in the 79th.

The Singapore goal was scored by Leonel Felice at the 68th minute with the team playing with 10 players after one of their players was shown the red card after receiving two yellow cards.

The 2-1 win makes this the seventh win for Selangor since the tournament first began.
