SHAH ALAM, 2 Oct: The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, will write to the Federal Government to open the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) document and the Selangor Water Restructuring Agreement document to the public.
Mohamed Azmin explained that the disclosure of the document which is classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) is needed to guarantee the transparency of the agreement to the consumers and the people of Selangor.
“We promised that we want to ensure that the interests of consumers and the people of Selangor are guaranteed in the agreement signed with the Federal Government,” said Mohamed Azmin as soon as the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) meeting concluded this morning.
The meeting was held at the MTES Operations Room in the State Government Secretary’s (SUK) Building, where among others, a briefing on the Selangor water restructuring was given to the new State Government Executive Council members.
Mohamed Azmin also stressed that the state government should be given the power to ensure that the Langat 2 Project tender is held openly.
“When they were briefed on the Langat 2 project, we want the state government to have the power to ensure that the tender process is done openly and we want the Langat 2 development cost and operations cost to not burden the people of Selangor,” he added.
