Commenting on today’s sermon, the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque’s new Imam Besar, Ustaz Farhan Wijaya, said that the mosque has taken the role through several programmes in conjunction with the school holidays to instil society appreciation on religious values.

“The mosque takes the role to tackle social problems and we provide a variety of preparations in conjunction with the school holidays to tackle the social problems that are happening.

“We remind the community that these social problems can be overcome together and the mosque has a major role, especially in Shah Alam, to enhance the moral character of youth, and in fact all Muslims, to appreciate the history of the Prophet Muhammad’s morals” he told Selangor Kini.

Recalling his first experience of seeing the sacrifice ritual performed by the State Mosque, he expressed joy with the smooth running of the programme, as planned.

“Alhamdulillah, today’s event went smoothly as planned. We see that this time it was ore organised, and in fact it has been happening every year.

“Alhamdulillah for the increase of participants and visitors who were present to witness the sacrifice ritual this year,” he added.

As a recommendation in conjunction with the Aidiladha, he said that Muslims must sacrifice for Allah.

“Hari Raya Korban does not mean mere animal sacrifices, but to sacrifice our body and soul, labour, time, money to Allah and also sacrifice our desire so that there is better unity in Selangor,” he said.

Ustaz Farham Wijaya received the report for duty letter at the State Mosque on October 1, replacing Ustaz Ahmad Mustafa Mohd Sidin who passed away at the National Heart Institute on June 10.
