Deepavali celebration in Selangor lively

KLANG, 21 Oct: The Deepavali celebration in Selangor which was celebrated by the Hindu community brightened the surroundings of Little India at Jalang Tengku Kelana with the presence of people from all walks of life.

The festival of light which is celebrated every year was even livelier with the presence of the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, and his wife, Shamsidar Taharin, who were accompanied by several state leaders including Assemblymen and Selangor Parliamentarians.

The Indian singing and dance presentation was the background of the meaningful celebration while guests had the opportunity to witness the lively celebration themselves and treat themselves to traditional food like today capati, curry and murukku.

Wearing a white kurta, Azmin then mingled with those present while distributing festive pocket money to the visitors, especially children, as a gift to them.

The visitors also did not miss out on the opportunity to visit dozens of stalls and shops to obtain their necessities, including clothing, shoes and food.

Apart from that, the atmosphere became more exciting with fireworks as a symbol of the celebration.
