CM: Visits twice in 24 hours, determined to help reduce the burden of the people

HULU SELANGOR, 22 Oct: Visiting twice in 24 hours to the site of the landslide here proves that the new state government administration is concerned about the people’s problems.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that he, together with the Exco members and other representatives of the people are ready to lend a hand and lighten the people’s burden.

For that, he said, the state government administration is ready to personally hear the grievances of the people.

“In 24 hours, the Exco members and I have come here two to three times. We want to show that this new administration respects the people.

“We are not just sitting in the office, but we visit and hear the people’s problems,” he said during a speech in front of over 100 attendees.

He was speaking when attending a luncheon with the residents of the block where the landslide happened at Pangsapuri Teratai at the temporary placement at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Bunga 2.

Also joining the visit this time was State Exco members Dr Daroyah Alwi and Ean Yong Hian Wah, as well as the Assemblywoman or Kuala Kubu Bahru, Lee Kee Hiong, and the Member of Parliament for Kuala Langat, Abdullah Sani.

At the same time, Mohamed Azmin asked all victims to be patient and wait for the green light before being permitted to go back to their respective homes.

“For the time being, we will have a water pathway and build a sheet pile between the slope at Block L and K, in addition to installing sensors to detect any underground movement.

“A report will be completed on Friday before any decision is made.

“Our priority is the safety of the residents,” he told reporters.

Yesterday, Mohamed Azmin took the opportunity to visit the victims of the landslide incident at the temporary placement centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Bunga Raya.

This evening, he and the Exco members will go to Pandamaran to visit the area of the storm victims at a few Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) apartments.

The incident which took place for about 30 minutes witnessed a tornado formation after heavy rain before taking with it the roofs of two apartments in Pandamaran Jaya.
