Tian Chua: Demolishing Kampung Chubadak, DBKL irresponsible

SHAH ALAM, 30 Oct: The Kampung Chubadak issue should be resolved immediately by the authorities so that it does not pose a problem to the residents of the village, said the Member of Parliament for Batu, Tian Chua.

He said that this matter should not be dragged on for so long and a decision needs to be reached regarding the demands of the residents to solve this issue.

“It is true that the residents have demanded to negotiate a reasonable compensation, but until now, it has not been solved.

“It is very irresponsible for the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and other authorities to allow for the demolition to take place,” he told Selangor Kini yesterday.

Tian Chua said this following the demolition of several homes in Kampung Chubadak which is said to pave the way for development to take place in the area.

He claimed that the actions of the authorities are not timely when taking opportunity when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s appeal is being carried out at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya.

“They also chose a time when our attention is focused on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s case, which is on-going.

“They are trying to divert attention and taking action to demolish several homes in Kampung Chubadak. This is a regrettable move,” he said.
