Selangor hands over assistance of RM15,000 to Cameron Highlands flood victims

SHAH ALAM, 7 Nov: The Selangor government has approved RM15,000 to help the flood victims in Cameron Highlands, Pahang.

The Exco for Health, Welfare Women’s Affairs and Family, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that the provisions were approved and will be sent immediately to help the disaster victims.

“The state government expresses condolences to the victims of the flood and landslide in Cameron Highlands. A provision of RM15,000 has been approved for assistance to be sent there,” she said through Facebook.

The flooding and landslide that happened two days ago killed three people, while almost 30 families were displaced from their homes.

The incident is believed to be caused by the water release from the Sultan Abu Bakar Dam, coupled with the high amount of rainfall recently.
