32 recipients receive RM640000 in reparation aid

SABAK BERNAM, 22 Nov: A total of 32 recipients across Selangor were lucky when they received the reparation aid organised by the Selangor State Development Cooperation (PKNS), with an overall cost of RM640,000.

The Exco for Housing Building Management and Urban Life, Iskandar Abdul Samad said that the initiative proves that the state government subsidiary company never neglected its social responsibility work.

He said that the effort by PKNS also reflects the state government’s principles of not only focusing on development areas but also rural life.

“Some people say PKNS sells houses worth millions, but let us not forget that PKNS needs to make a profit.

“The profit from that will be returned to the people in programmes like the one this morning,” he said when officiating the Poor and Needy House Reparation Programme Launching Ceremony at the site of the house of one of the recipients at Taliair 2, Ban 1 Tanjong Karang, today.

Also present was the General Manager of PKNS, Azlan Alifiah, and the Sungai Burong Community Service Centre Manager Misran Serman.

Through programmes under PKNS Kasih, each housing unit given has a ceiling cost of RM20,000 and it depends on the type of repairs to be carried out.

The reparation has began and is expected to be fully completed by the end of this year.

Apart from Sungai Burong, the four other areas that will receive this assistance are Sungai Air Tawar, Sabak Bernam, Sungai Panjang and Jeram.
