MBSA offers compound discount of up to 80%

SHAH ALAM, 5 Dec: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will give a reduction in compound of up to 80 percent, especially for those who commit parking offences.

Its Deputy Corporate Director, Shahrin Ahmad, said that those who have received compounds should grab this special opportunity throughout the month of December.

He said that this campaign is to encourage those who have received compounds to settle their compound arrears before strict action is taken against those who have failed to settle their arrears.

“Strict action will be taken against those who fail to settle their compound, especially for those who have committed an offence under the MBSA Road Transport 2007 ruling.

“The offence includes not displaying vehicle coupons and not parking their vehicles at the parking spaces provided,” he said in a statement.

Shahrin said that MBSA, with cooperation from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will blacklist offenders who fail to settle their MBSA compounds by introducing the I-Blacklist system.

“In relation to that, MBSA urges the people, especially those who have compound arrears to take advantage of this campaign to settle their compounds,” he said.

The public can make compound payments at the main counter at Wisma MBSA, the Sungai Buloh Branch Office, the Kota Kemuning Branch Office and the Setia Alam Branch Office.

MBSA also provides the Shah Alam On Wheels (SAOW) mobile office services and also mobile counters every Saturday and the time, place and date specified.

For any questions regarding the types of offences that qualify for the discount and so on, the public can contact the MBSA Revenue Management and Investment Department at 03-5522 2882 or visit the MBSA website at www.mbsa.gov.my.
